The Return of the Pre-Existing Coniditions

July 22, 2018

At least buying insurance is not mandatory anymore, and that is the one criticism I have of former President Obama anyway. Currently as the law stands, health care companies cannot bar people with pre-existing conditions from getting insurance. This monumental change was an effort to say the least since for many years we have taken the crap they give us for having health conditions, a disability, or a chronic illness. We can’t stand by helpless anymore though. We have to have ourselves a revolution. I totally disagree with fining people who do not have health insurance. (http://fortune.com/2018/06/11/trump-obamacare-preexisting-conditions/)

People with pre-existing conditions have to have insurance. To exclude them from getting coverage, that’s just wrong. This much the Republicans are keeping in mind as they make health care reform happen for the rest of us. Cutting off insurance payments to lower, low-income American’s out-of-pocket medical costs. The middle class is also screwed over with the way federal subsidies used to help premiums rise in conjunction with the spikes. Having a pre-existing condition should not make people go for broke.

At least the Senate feels that Congress would never vote to repeal the Pre-existing conditions clause that was lifted with the inception of the Affordable Care Act. (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pre-existing-conditions-coverage-at-risk-more-than-thought-obamacare/). The Justice Department has a cold heart, just like the Trump Administration. The thing is, we the sick, protest. We demand better coverage. We want to pay for our health care with our own money. We do not want to stay low-income if we have to. We want coverage and a good quality of life. So far, they have been unsuccessful putting the pre-existing conditions clause back in. They can never win the pre-existing condition clause being put back in, as this was a significant step forward with having democratic insurance coverage for everybody.
