Dr. Judith Orloff: Biography

Dr. Judith Roof comes from a long line of physicians. She is a psychiatrist who studied psychic talents in order to help her patients better. She went to the University of Southern California and earned her psychiatry M.D. in 1979. She did her residency at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute from 1979, to 1983. Second Sight is a great book of hers that is enlightening because this book helps my understanding of how my own abilities work. She did staff position work at Los Angeles hospitals. Second Sight is a beautiful book I picked up in college, years after it’s original publication.

Orloff has second sight, or the ability to see things before they happen, as well as things that you cannot readily perceive. Dr. Orloff has spoken at medical schools and hospitals. Dr. Orloff has multiple subspecialities such as addiction, forensic psychiatry, neuropsychiatry and pain treatment. Her books teach me how to be caring without losing my mental health in the process. I try to care about somebody else without overdoing the caretaking, which is my main problem, I caretake too much without getting my own needs met. If I ever make it to UCLA, somehow… I hope that I can make a dent in her field.
