Oppositional Defiant Disorder

February 7, 2020

Oppositional Defiant Disorder is something that one endocrinologist I had wanted to drag my mother and I into therapy for. The whole situation was very intense though because she couldn’t admit she was wrong. I had a diagnosis of oppositional defiant disorder because of the fact I wasn’t on medication, so my moods were all over the place and I couldn’t trust authority at all. I wasn’t the vindictive sort of person with ODD, https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/oppositional-defiant-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20375831. Treatment for ODD meant confronting my family about their fight picking, as well as their tendency to want me to be angry with them all the time because of their histrionic. ODD is something that happens in my family of origin because of their history of drinking, but then again as a toddler, I was not a trouble maker sort, or so that my family would confirm. But anyway, that is now treated because I stick with my health care regimen quite a bit. https://www.aacap.org/aacap/Families_and_Youth/Resource_Centers/Oppositional_Defiant_Disorder_Resource_Center/FAQ.aspx
